MATIANGI ORDERS COMMON EXAMS FOR ALL UNIVERSITIES WITH SIMILAR COURSES

After releasing arguably the most credible KCSE and KCPE results in history. CS Fred matiangi has turned his eyes to universities. This is after public outcry on quality of graduates from higher learning institutions.  Matiangi now wants a common exam for all universities offering similar courses which will be marked centrally just like KNEC or KASNEB exams. E.g All institutions offering B-COM will register and take common final  exams concurrently. This is to make sure all students cover what they are supposed to cover and reduce laziness of lecturers in Kenyan universities.  He will in January release full guidelines over the same. However there are more changes he is likely to make.

The World Bank has raised concerns on the quality of graduates being produced by universities and colleges in Kenya. The bank observes that the country’s education system is failing to produce graduates with the knowledge and skills crucial for Vision 2030, in its report dated September 2015
