A 19-year-old woman from Zambia has given birth to female twins conjoined at the chest and facing each other.
special delivery took place at KITWE Central Hospital, which reportedly recorded its first ever case of Siamese twins.
According to the doctors, the babies are in stable condition, though there is a defect that make them look like they are joined at the heart.
"The female twins are sharing the abdomen, liver, and umbilical cord. Though their hearts are separate, they have a defect that makes it look as if they are also sharing the heart," says Dr Joseph Musowoya, KITWE Central Hospital medical superintendent.
