WHO WANT JOHO DEAD?
Gun shots have rent the air in Migori culminating into the shooting of a body guard to Governor Joho
This was during a chaotic ODM meeting where two rival camps clashed The chaos that rocked an ODM rally in Migori resulted into the shooting of one of Mombasa Governor Hassan Joho's bodyguard.
The melee broke out after rowdy youth said to be supporters of Migori Governor Okoth Obado blocked the convoy of Joho, Suna East MP Junet Muhammed and Siaya Senator James Orengo.
Stones were thrown from each side of the group forcing police to lob tear gas canisters and also shoot in the air to disperse the groups.
There were reports that live bullets were fired at the VIP seats during which one of Joho's bodyguard was shot on the leg as he tried to save his boss from the mayhem.
Photos also emerged online showing Joho with a blood stained t-shirt inside his vehicle.
The town was a no go zone as both Junet's and Obado's supporters pelted each other with stones during the chaos on Monday April 3.
It is believed Junet is eyeing the Migori gubernatorial seat and the meeting at Posta grounds was meant to announce his bid, a decison which did not auger well with the pro-Obado supporters.
The tension began on Sunday, April 2 after unknown people with the help of police officers brought down the tents and the stage that had been set-up for the Joho-Junet meeting Attackers threw petrol bombs in ODM offices set to be opened by Joho in the night, with ODM supporters pointing fingers at the governor Obado.
