Sakaja,Dennis Waweru make dumbfounding political moves

Sakaja and Waweru have dropped out of the Nairobi gubernatorial race

Sakaja made the surprise move when he presented his nomination papers on Thursday, March 16

Sakaja will now go for the Nairobi senatorial seat on August 8, 2017 poll

Waweru also said he is out of the race and will defend his Dagoretti South constituency seat Jubilee nominated MP Johnson Sakaja and his Dagoretti South constituency counterpart Dennis Waweru have abandoned plans to vie for the Nairobi gubernatorial seat.

Sakaja, a youthful MP who had immersed himself in the crowded race to be Nairobi's CEO now says he will vie for the senatorial race in the same county.

Waweru said he is out of the race and will defend his Dagoretti South constituency seat come August 8, 2017.

The two major parties ODM and Jubilee seem to be the only ones going head to head for the top seat in the Capital city but Jubilee has the highest number of aspirants.

Apart from the two who have dropped their bids, others are former Gatanga MP Peter Kenneth, former Starehe MP Bishop Margaret Wanjiru, and Nairobi Senator Mike Sonko.

Former National Assembly Speaker Kenneth Marende was also said to be interested in the race but seems to have changed mind and is likely to go for the Vihiga senatorial seat.

Others in the race outside Jubilee are Miguna Miguna and business woman Esther Passaris who are all salivating for the seat now occupied by ODM's Evans Kidero.

Sakaja presented his nomination papers to the Jubilee headquarters in Pangani on Thursday, March 16 accompanied by several Nairobi MPs.
